What is Binance Launchpad?
Binance Launchpad is Binance’s token launch platform. It has hosted token sales in which eligible users could subscribe to a project’s tokens under rules set for that particular event. A project page typically explains the token, sale price, allocation, schedule, and participation conditions.
Launchpad is not a guarantee that a token will rise in value or that every user will receive an allocation. Rules and product availability can change, so treat each project’s official announcement as the source for that event—not an older guide or another project’s terms.
Launchpad, Launchpool, and HODLer Airdrops
In the direct-sale format covered here, Launchpad participants commit the asset specified by the sale and pay for their final token allocation. In past subscription events that asset has often been BNB, but the accepted asset and calculation method must be checked in each announcement.
Launchpool is a different mechanism: eligible users may lock supported assets to earn token distributions according to the pool’s rules. HODLer Airdrops are another program with separate eligibility and historical balance requirements. A Launchpool guide or an airdrop announcement should not be assumed to describe a Launchpad token sale.
Who can participate?
A participant generally needs an eligible Binance account, completed identity verification where required, access to the relevant product in their jurisdiction, and the ability to satisfy the project’s account and asset requirements. Binance may also require acceptance of a project-specific token purchase agreement.
Restrictions can depend on residence, nationality, the Binance entity serving the account, account status, and the specific sale. Being able to open an account—or holding a referral code—does not automatically make someone eligible. Confirm the event’s restricted locations and the eligibility message shown in your own account.
Before the sale: review the project
Open the project’s official Binance announcement and read the token sale format, total supply, amount offered, price, use of proceeds, token distribution, vesting or unlock schedules, and any per-user cap. Review the project’s own documentation and independent sources as well.
Check the preparation period, subscription window, calculation period, distribution time, accepted assets, and whether times are shown in UTC. An event may have a short subscription window; the dates and durations of previous events are not a reliable schedule for the next one.
How a subscription typically works
1. Sign in through the official Binance app or website, find the token launch area, and open the relevant project. Check that the page is an actual Launchpad sale and that your account is eligible; menu names may change.
2. Review the preparation rules. In some past BNB subscription sales, Binance calculated a user’s maximum commitment from average eligible BNB holdings during a specified snapshot period. The wallets counted, snapshot method, minimums, and observation period can differ, so read that event’s instructions.
3. During the subscription window, enter the amount you want to commit, review the purchase agreement and risk disclosures, and confirm only if you accept the terms. A balance snapshot or referral code alone is not necessarily a subscription.
4. Wait for the calculation and distribution. In the historical subscription format described by Binance, committed BNB was temporarily locked; the BNB corresponding to the allocation was deducted, while unused BNB was returned. Check the current project’s own settlement and refund rules.
How is the allocation calculated?
Some past sales calculated allocations proportionally from each eligible participant’s committed BNB compared with the total committed by eligible users, subject to limits and the event’s rules. If demand is high, the amount finally allocated can be much smaller than the amount committed.
For illustration only, if an event allocates 100,000 tokens, eligible users collectively commit 1,000 BNB, and one user commits 10 BNB, a simple proportional calculation gives that user 1% of the pool, or 1,000 tokens, before any cap or other adjustment. This is not a prediction or the rule for every sale; token price determines the amount payable, and actual calculations may differ.
A historical example—not a current offer
For its 2023 Open Campus (EDU) Launchpad sale, Binance announced a five-day BNB preparation period, a separate subscription window, an allocation calculation, and final distribution. The announcement said committed BNB would be locked until distribution and the unused portion returned after the relevant deduction.
That example shows the structure of one past sale; it does not establish today’s participation window, minimum balance, token price, availability, or future allocation rules.
Risks and practical checks
New tokens can be highly volatile, illiquid, or decline below their sale price. BNB itself can also move in value. A temporary lock can prevent transfers or trading during the specified period, and a vesting schedule may restrict when allocated tokens can be sold.
Check token economics, circulating supply, unlocks, project disclosures, the contract address, applicable fees, settlement rules, and local tax implications. Never borrow or commit more than you can afford to lose, and be cautious of impersonators, fake launch pages, and unsolicited messages.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral code? A referral code is generally connected to account registration, not a substitute for a sale’s participation requirements. Check the project’s rules and your account status separately.
Is there a fixed minimum amount of BNB? Do I always receive tokens? Neither answer should be assumed. Any minimum, accepted asset, personal cap, allocation formula, and eligibility requirement depend on the specific event. An eligible account or a commitment does not guarantee a particular allocation or profit.
Where should I check the current rules? Use the official Binance project announcement and the eligibility information displayed in your account. If an item is unclear, contact Binance through its official support channels before committing assets.
