What HTX Launchpool is

HTX Launchpool is an event format on the HTX exchange in which you stake the exchange’s HTX token and receive tokens from new projects as rewards. Each event has a fixed reward pool for one or more projects, and that pool is shared among everyone who stakes during the event. You do not buy the new tokens; you receive a share of them for keeping HTX staked.

HTX describes the model as “one asset, multiple rewards”: staked HTX earns from every Launchpool project running at the same time. In its 2025 review, HTX said it ran 23 Launchpool projects that year, with about 200,000 participants and a largest reward pool worth more than 2.28 million USDT. It plans to expand the program in 2026. Past figures do not tell you what a future event will pay.

How an event runs

Each event has its own announcement with dates, reward pools and rules. The details below come from HTX’s June 2025 event for EDGEN, LA and FB, a typical recent example; check the announcement for the event you want to join.

  • Warm-up: a short period before mining starts, during which you can pre-lock HTX. In the example event it lasted two hours. If you unlock before mining begins, you get nothing.
  • Mining period: the reward pool is paid out over a set number of days, 14 in the example. That event had pools of 800,000 EDGEN, 40,000 LA and 60,000 FB, and no upper limit on how much HTX each user could stake.
  • Two ways to take part: lock HTX from your Spot account on the Launchpool page, or deposit HTX into HTX’s flexible Earn product, which stakes it in Launchpool automatically. HTX says the Earn route earns both Earn and Launchpool rewards and keeps your HTX in future Launchpool events without restaking.

How rewards are calculated

HTX takes a snapshot of your staked HTX and of the total staked by all participants once an hour. Each project’s pool is split into equal hourly amounts, and you receive the same share of each hour’s rewards as your share of the total stake.

For example, 800,000 EDGEN over 14 days is about 2,381 EDGEN an hour. If your HTX made up 0.1% of everything staked in a given hour, you would receive about 2.4 EDGEN for that hour. Your share falls as more people stake, so the reward rate is not fixed. Any estimated APR shown on the page depends on the total stake and on the price of a token that may have only just been listed.

Newly staked HTX starts earning after it has been locked for a full hour, and unlocking early forfeits that hour’s reward. Rewards are credited to your Spot account every hour, sometimes with a delay of one to two hours.

Unlocking your HTX

HTX you lock manually on the Launchpool page stays locked until you unlock it there. Once the mining period ends, you need to unlock it before you can trade or use it elsewhere. HTX deposited through flexible Earn stays in Earn and automatically counts toward later Launchpool events, subject to the Earn product’s own terms.

Who can take part

Launchpool rules can exclude users by location and account type. The June 2025 announcement included these conditions:

  • Users in mainland China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, the United States and Venezuela could not take part.
  • Sub-accounts were not eligible.
  • HTX could disqualify users and withdraw rewards for abuse, such as running several accounts from the same IP address or device.
  • HTX could change or cancel the event at any time without notice.

UK and EU sanctions on HTX

In 2026, the UK and the EU took action against HTX under their Russia sanctions. On May 26, 2026, the UK added Huobi Global S.A., the company behind HTX, to its sanctions list. The UK Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI) said in a May 29 FAQ that it considers the HTX exchange subject to UK financial sanctions because of Huobi’s ownership. HTX disputes the designation.

On July 23, 2026, the EU included HTX in its 21st sanctions package against Russia. Reports say the measure bars transactions between HTX and people and companies in the EU, though it is not an asset freeze.

If you are in the UK or the EU, or are otherwise subject to these rules, they can prohibit you from dealing with HTX at all, Launchpool included. A referral code or a Launchpool announcement does not change that. Check the rules that apply to you before opening an account or staking.

Risks to weigh

Launchpool rewards are not free money. While your HTX is staked, you remain exposed to the price of HTX, and a fall in its value can easily outweigh the rewards you receive.

The reward tokens come from new projects. Many are volatile when they first list and can lose much of their value soon after. Your rewards are also small unless your share of the total stake is large, and that share shrinks as more HTX is staked.

Your HTX sits on a centralized exchange during the event, so you also carry platform risk, including the regulatory issues above.

Before you join an event

Read the announcement for the specific event: its dates, the reward pools, any cap per user, the regions that are excluded and how unlocking works. Check whether you can legally use HTX where you live, and how the HTX and Earn terms apply to you. Rules, rewards and availability can change from one event to the next.
